Mothers' Union Nov 2016

Eleven members attended the meeting on 17th November at St. Peter's Church. The service was conducted by the Enrolling Member, and the lesson was read by Mrs. Sandra Wheeler.
Five members will attend the Songs of Praise service in Penrhyndeudraeth on Nov. 18th. A "Wave of Prayer" service will be held at St. Peter's at 10.00am on Nov. 23th.

Condolences were expressed to Mrs. Gwenda Price and Mrs. Marilyn Jones on recent family bereavements.

Arrangements are in hand for the Christmas Lunch on 15th December. Please contact the Treasurer ASAP if you wish to attend.

The guest speaker was Denise Davies from the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service .She gave us some very good advice on how to avoid fires in the home-eg not overloading sockets, and not leaving chips and fried foods to cook unattended in the kitchen. A Home Safety Fire Check is available free of charge from the Fire Service, when they will identify dangers in your home. Electric blankets over 10 yrs old should be discarded. Denise was thanked by Mrs. Sandra Wheeler.

The tea hostess was Mrs. Margaret Hughes.

The next meeting will be the annual Carol Service in St. Peter's at 11.00 am on Dec.15th, followed by Christmas Lunch at the Riverside Hotel, Pennal. Each member is kindly asked to bring a Raffle Prize.                   

A Psalms of Praise service for the Mothers’ Union Bangor Diocese took place at Holy Trinity Church Penrhyndeudraeth on 18th November at 2:00 pm. The welcome and introduction was by the Diocese President Mrs Jenny Lane. Members from around the Diocese took part in reading Psalms and good singing to follow. The Prayer Banner was blessed by Archdeacon Paul Davies.

Tea and cake was served, during tea, Since Mrs Kath Broadbent will be leaving the area, she was presented with a card of thanks for all her hard work over many years, She will be missed.
