On the 30th and 31st July the church was bustling with ladies and gentlemen very busy arranging flowers and accessories under the guidance of Mrs Ann Parry in preparation for the opening of the flower festival on Wednesday the 1st of August which was the end of the months of planning and the opening of the Festival. The festival was opened with a Service of Holy Eucharist fittingly presided over by Revd Canon Kathleen who then formally opened the festival with prayers and blessing.

The festival then opened daily until Monday 6th August. On Sunday evening there was a Songs of Praise with the bilingual hymn singing conducted by Alwyn Evans who was also the soloist, with Mrs Margaret Hughes the Organist and accompanist, there were also instrumental items by Matt and Anna Swan. This evening really was a splendid addition to the festival and enjoyed immensely by all who attended.

St Peter’s Church is indebted to all that helped in any way to make the Festival a success but especially to Mrs Ann Parry who co-ordinated and planned the arrangements.
