Lighting Machynlleth Christmas Tree

Thursday night in Machynlleth was cold but thankfully dry as the decorations on the Christmas tree by the clock tower were lit. The Mayor of Machynlleth was on hand to officiate the proceedings and Rev. Canon Kathleen Rogers attended to lead everyone in a prayer and the singing of carols and invite everyone back to St. Peter's Church afterwards for a warming glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. There were crafts for the children to take part in as well.

The rotary club were in attaendance together with santa clause and a sleigh with two great looking reindeer.

The whole event was wonderully accompanied by Machynlleth Wind Band.

I noticed a wonderful model of St. Peter's Church made of gingerbread in the window of Losin Lush, Maengwyn Street afterwards. If you can't get to this great shop to see it, yuo can see photographs on their Facebook page at : Gingerbread St. Peter's at Losin Lush
